Public Safety officers are faced with new considerations requiring increase sensitivity in performing their duties, especially in high-stress, confrontational contacts. The challenge for law enforcement, more unique then in any other service profession, creates a special need for understanding a pluralistic and multicultural society. They need to know how to use practical, cross-cultural strategies that emphasize professionalism. This program will assist the public safety officer with understanding professional behaviors, which contribute to the self-esteem of the residents of their communities and to positive interpersonal relations within their organizations.
